Don't be scared.
First up!. If your razor isn't assembled correctly, it won't shave properly and you'll feel disappointed.
The "middle plate" must have the comb facing upwards against the blade, and the smooth side should be against the handle.
This is often the no.1 reason why people think their safety razor doesn't work for them or why they may cut themselves.
Then what?
Then you want a 30-degree angle (same as a regular razor) and short strokes. No need for pressure, just let the razor do it for you. The more you use it the more you will love it. I've never had a better shave in my life.
